Jomon Sugi

The Jomon Sugi is one of the largest cedars on Yakushima Island, a World Natural Heritage site. The age of the tree varies from 2,000 years to 7,200 years, but the severe irregularities on the surface of the cedar give us a sense of its deep history of survival in the harsh natural environment.

It takes about 10 hours of round-hiking from the nearest bus stop at the Arakawa trailhead to the place where you can see the Jomon Sugi. A variety of hiking tours are available, and you can choose the course that best suits your physical health.

Flower Park Kagoshima

Flower Park Kagoshima is one of the largest botanical parks in Japan, located at the southernmost tip of the Satsuma Peninsula.
